The answer is no. It's just another line that happens to fit this definition, it's not a side of the triangle. You cannot define a side of a triangle as satisfying one of these definitions in order to make up another side. Oye. I know it's just a Vsauce video, but this is stupid, it's just a line with these properties, and there are actually two other lines with the same properties, this frustrates me.

I prefer to think that reality is just elements. The name we give is just a grouping of the function of the collective atoms for purposes of communication and thinking. If the group of atoms no longer serve its function, it cannot be perceived or classified by the name because the objective of communication and thinking has not been met. It's all about human perceptions... When/if we create superintelligent AI, we would have to program it to learn human associations for things; otherwise, it would make any and all connections between anything and everything, which ruins the point of a neural network. (Without pattern recognition, it couldn't do anything.) But if we allowed it, let's say, 1,000 times as many logical connections between things as we learn and use ourselves, the AI would think much more efficiently--it would just need a better way to communicate. (I remember hearing discussions over the huge barrier in machine to human communication in the AI community.) Random thought: In a way, human-level thought is just a large number of functions that interact with each other.I don't have any experience in the creation of AI, but my thought is this: if we could break down human thought into individual functions, and apt them to interact such as ours, we could theoretically create human-level AI quite plausibly. It would inherently be able to think faster just because our neural interactivity is slower than technology is capable. We obviously could optimise it beyond human capability through giving it: 1. types of sensory inputs we don't have 2. complete symbioses to a duplicate systems 3. giving it innumerable input via the internet (possibly filtering the input through another AI to best meet defined objectives) 4. we could allow it to self-optimize at max speed. (Clearly, there's more to be brought up.)

In machine learning, neural networks are black boxes. We can't explain why they decide what they decide, same as us. Also in machine learning ensembles normally have better performance than individual classifiers. I think we should learn from the machine learning field, even if it's not Artificial General Intelligence, it's still very useful as tool to know ourselves.

the title reminded me there is a way to write an "invisible charactere" that few people know, on Windows you should hold Alt and type 240, then release Alt. It is useful when you want to use swear words on facebook, a forum or online games and don't want to get banned, you put it in the middle of a word, for example you want to write fuck, you do f - alt + 240 - u - c - k. For us it will appear fuck, but for the computer/algorithm this special charactere would not make sense, since when it will be checked, "f-special charactere-u-c-k" doesn't match with "f-u-c-k". Ofc an admin can still ban you, but not if it's a place that banned words are hold in a data base

Quick question, those apes apparently can't form questions, but they are somewhat related to a level of a 2.5 year old child. Can't 2.5 yo children form questions? Couldn't we at that age? Isn't that a good lead on this mystery? I'm trying to recall my childhood at that age and trace back what I used to think back then...

I don't see how irrational numbers conclusively rule out the simulation hypothesis. Sure, encoding all infinite digits of pi into the simulation would require an infinite amount of memory, but the idea of pi is quite simple and explained in one sentence. The algorithm for computing Nth digit of pi is finite, and that's what matters. Similarly for root 2, you can use Newton's method to reach arbitrary precision. It even has quadratic convergence.
